Sandy Shindleman, Chairman

Mr. Shindleman is a distinguished entrepreneur and a recognized expert in the commercial and investment real estate industry.

He is President and CEO of Shindico Realty, a senior instructor for the CCIM Institute, and
chairman of its faculty subcommittee.

Ida Albo

Ms. Albo is an innovative business leader who is co-owner and managing partner of Manitoba’s
Hotel Fort Garry. She and her husband, Rick Bell, have overseen the impeccable historical restoration of this 1913 heritage hotel.

Ida serves on the board of the University of Winnipeg Foundation and is former president of the CentreVenture Development Corporation.

Mel Lazareck

Mr. Lazareck is a respected businessman, philanthropist, and community leader, known for his ability to nurture cooperative dialogue between diverse groups of people.

Mel has served many non-profit organizations (including the JNF and the Arab Jewish Dialogue) and is currently Manitoba’s special representative to Israel for economic and community development.

Syd Thompson

Mr. Thompson is the President and C.E.O. of Leader General Distributors, a family
                     business headquartered in Winnipeg.

Syd studied at Arizona State University and the University of Winnipeg. He is a respected     business leader committed to education. The Thompson Family helped sponsor the             Children’s Hospital Asthma Education Centre, a leading centre for excellence in asthma         research.

Dr. Deborah Schnitzer

Professor Schnitzer is a respected university professor, activist, editor, and writer, who
teaches in the English Department at the University of Winnipeg.

Deborah works to advance human rights education, adult and family literacy, participatory
democracy, conflict resolution, interfaith dialogue, creative campaigning and global
citizenship.

The Woman Who Swallowed West Hawk Lake is the title of Deborah’s new novel.

Dr. Catherine Chatterley

Professor Chatterley is CISA's founding director and a respected historian of the Holocaust and Antisemitism.

She teaches modern European and Jewish history at the University of Manitoba and writes

on a variety of subjects including Antisemitism, the Holocaust, and contemporary Europe.
